On behalf of TD Plant Hire & Haulage Ltd, Lewis & Hunter Contracting resurfaced the internal roads and main car parks at Trawsfynydd Power Station. It was determined that the work would be conducted during off-peak hours to minimise downtime at the site, which is currently managed by Magnox Ltd, a subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). We worked closely with TD Plant Hire & Haulage, Magnox and its principal contractor, and the wider supply chain to meticulously plan the project in an effort to reduce any potential disruption to the station's working activities. For this reason, the majority of the work was completed over the weekend. Strict health and safety procedures were followed. All surfacing work was completed to the highest possible standards. We purposely selected the Breedon Group as our material supplier due to its ability to deliver high quality asphalt from its Minffordd quarry. This quarry is situated just nine miles from the power station, which enabled us to significantly lower our carbon footprint and effectively control supply. All work was completed within the programme's schedule and budget. We received high praise from the client, customer and principal contractor for our reliability and collaborative capabilities, as well as the superior finish of the final surface. We are currently being considered as a contractor for future projects at the nuclear power facility.
